Chalki Music Festival – Dimitris Kremastinos

Since September 2022, the Municipality of Chalki has been organizing the Chalki Music Festival – Dimitris Kremastinos with great success. The Festival—held under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic—represents an effort to create a sustainable cultural institution, centered on hosting and promoting cultural events as a means of healthy tourism development. The Festival aims to provide the residents of Chalki with a unique cultural experience that minimizes—as much as possible—the sense of distance from major urban centers while offering visitors high-quality entertainment. The Festival honors the late Dimitris Kremastinos, a prominent medical, academic, scientific, and political figure in our country, who recognized and promoted the value of musical education. The Festival is organized under the artistic direction of conductor Nikos Haliasas and in collaboration with the Athens State Orchestra. For 2026, the Festival’s theme will be “Musical Roots,” a dialogue with both domestic and international musical traditions.
